From Denver to Darien: Studio D transforms a Connecticut residence into a forever home, layering East Coast tradition with modern design elegance.
Nestled in tranquil Scott’s Cove in Darien, Connecticut, this 8,000-square-foot residence exemplifies the seamless blending of traditional New England architecture with contemporary elegance. For Studio D, the project was both personal and professional: first designing the custom spec home and later, at the request of its new owners, transforming it into their forever home.
The second phase of design brought unique challenges - executed long-distance from Denver on an accelerated timeline. Design development began in February, and by July the clients had moved in. The pace was intense, but the collaboration, trust, and shared vision made it possible to deliver a home that feels not only complete, but also deeply personal.
One of the defining features of the project is the artistic use of ceiling finishes. A book-matched silk metallic ombré wallpaper in moody blue hues stretches overhead, enveloping the rooms with subtle drama and reflective sophistication. The interplay of sheen and shadow creates a backdrop that feels equally serene and striking - setting the tone for the entire home.
This Darien interior design project is a testament to Studio D’s ability to manage complex projects across distance, fast-track schedules, and evolving client needs—while never compromising on creativity, craft, or elegance.
