Surrounded by Saguaros in the prestigious DC Ranch neighborhood in Scottsdale, Arizona, this residence is a masterclass in interior architecture and design.
Originally conceived as a custom spec home, Danielle was the lead designer of the property alongside a builder while living in Arizona, ensuring that every element - from architectural details to materials - was thoughtfully considered. The original design was immediately distinctive. Reclaimed timber from an Amish barn adorned the vaulted ceilings w/ reclaimed slat shingles, hand-carved wood columns in the vestibule, and doors sourced from Morocco added warmth and character, while hand-painted tile, Cantera stone, Grand Canyon onyx, and intricate flagstone inlay floors and walls brought depth and texture.
Over a decade later, the homeowners sought a design refresh, transitioning from the original dark, rich palette to a lighter, more modern ambiance. Throughout the home, Studio D curated every element with intention. Furniture, lighting, and accessories were selected to complement the home’s artisanal materials without overwhelming the architecture. The result is a residence that feels cohesive, inviting, and deeply personal - an environment that balances the owners’ sophisticated aesthetic with the functional needs of daily living - all while keeping it’s original western spirit alive.
